Swimming Strong is a mobile swim school that provides private swim instruction for families in East Honolulu. Miss Kristi provides instruction in water safety, beginning swimming and advanced stroke techniques for competitive swimming. Swimmers of all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Miss Kristi is a dedicated to empowering her students to reach their swimming goals and develop a lifelong enjoyment of the water.

SKILLS CHART



Instruction is designed to meet the individual needs of each swimmer and enable them to gain a solid foundation on which to build more advanced skills and gain independence, confidence and proficiency in the water.

WATER SAFETY



Introduction to the water, floating, submerging, swimming to safety ​



BEGINNING SWIMMING



Available for swimmers who are proficient in swimming the width of a pool independently. Advanced water safety practice, introduction of basic stroke techniques, gaining water confidence.



INTERMEDIATE SWIMMING



Continued practice of basic stroke techniques, introduction to breathing techniques and more advanced strokes, diving for submerged objects



ADVANCED SWIMMING



Continued practice of all competitive strokes with an emphasis on proper stroke technique, introduction of starts and turns, endurance building



SWIM TEAM PREPARATION



Continued practice in the four competitive strokes with an emphasis on proper stroke technique, introduction to interval training and endurance building, advanced practice in competitive starts and turns​



ADVANCED STROKE TECHNIQUE WORKSHOPS



Individualized training in improving stroke technique for competitive swimmers. May include stroke technique modification, starts and turns, endurance building and interval training. Workshops are designed to meet the specific needs of the individual.



A Bit About Swimming Strong


Miss Kristi has been teaching swimming for 20+ years. Growing up in Hawaii, she understands the importance of children developing lifesaving water safety skills that will grow into a love of the water and empower them to maximize their potential and achieve their swimming goals.


Miss Kristi started Swimming Strong with the intention of sharing what she has learned as a competitive swimmer from inspiring coaches and as a swim instructor under exemplary swim program directors. Her background in education and childcare add to her understanding of how to bring out the best in each individual learner.


Miss Kristi is committed to instilling confidence in her swimmers and supporting them in taking their swimming skills to the next level to become strong, competent swimmers.


Miss Kristi's mission is to share her love of the water and empower swimmers of all ages and skill levels to overcome their fears and accomplish their swimming goals.

' Jorrin, my two-year old, was deathly afraid of water and would cling to me 'opihi-style' whenever we'd get in the water. After a few short lessons with 'Aunty Kristi', Jorrin is now 'Me first!' when he and his older brother have swim lessons.
